The coastal waters of Karnataka, the high hills of the Western Ghats, rivers, waterfalls etc. make it a great place for adventure sports and outdoor activities. International level surfing festival will be celebrated in Mangalore in the middle of 2017, in which the beaches and water sports of Karnataka will be promoted. In addition, the Forest and Tourism Department has identified 9 tracking routes in the Western Ghats, which is expected to be opened for tourists and trackers soon. Also, trained nature guides will educate tourists about nature conservation. All these activities will not only boost tourism in Karnataka, but today's generation will be familiar with the precious natural heritage.
Inaugurating the 'Year of the Wild' campaign, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that we are determined to protect our precious natural heritage. This is one of the many steps taken for achieving this objective. Minister of Tourism Priyanka Kharge said that we will work to save nature and environment. If we do not do that, then we will not be able to leave anything for our generation. Tourism Secretary Naveen Raj Singh said that our mission is not limited to wildlife, but the Karnataka government is providing all kind of facilities for adventure lovers.
Under this, we have introduced motorcycle tourism in Hampi and have initiated adventure games like Aero Sports Sky Diving in Mysore. All these activities will help you understand Karnataka's wild life. For adventure lovers, the biggest jungle tracks in the south of Vindhya are Apart from this, the evergreen forest of the Western Ghats is the natural habitat of different types of flora and fauna. In the year 1980, with the Tiger Tops of Nepal, the Karnataka Government established the Cauvery River Lodge through the Jungle Lodge and Resort, which has become a 100 per cent government owned entity till 1987. Today, JLR has become the largest forest and eco-lodging network in India. It has 17 jungle resorts and 5 jungle camps all over Karnataka. Today JLR is like a laboratory of green experiments.
